Godfrey, First Elden Lord is a boss the player will encounter in the Elden Ring. He was the first husband of Queen Marika (Queen Marika is the one who was directly responsible for the events that followed in the Elden Ring). She caused The Shattering and is the reason The Lands Between is what it is today. Godfrey is not an optional boss, instead, the player must defeat him to advance in the Elden Ring.
Players will find Godfrey, First Elden Lord in Leyndell, Capital of Ash, which you can only access after making significant progress in the story.
Godfrey is also the first Tarnished in the Elden Ring. After he defeated The Storm Lord and Fire Giants, it is said that his warrior spirit decreased, and he was cursed by Marika to become Tarnished.
In the process of being ruined as Tarnished, he fought and decided to become the leader of the warriors of the Badlands, taking the name Hoarah Loux. It's unclear what he's accomplished here, but the reason for making him the leader there isn't so simple. Serving the Great Will and the Golden Order, Godfrey eventually returned to the Lands Between with the goal of regaining the title of Elden Lord.
Godfrey, First Elden Lord Location
After completing Crumble Farum Azula, the player will encounter Godfrey, First Elden Lord / Hoarah Loux in Leyndell, the Capital of Ash. At this point the capital has fallen. He is located in the room at the top of the stairs to the southeast of the Queen's Place of Grace.
